About Us > How to Join New Hope North Baptist Church
If you would like to join New Hope North Baptist Church (NHN), please come forward during the hymn that immediately follows the sermon. The pastor will be glad to pray with you and discuss your decision. We will not embarrass you in any way or ask you to speak to the congregation.
The NHN family receives members in the following ways:
1. By receiving Christ as your Savior and Lord. After you make this commitment, the pastor will counsel with you about your decision and schedule your believer's baptism.*
2. By Transferring your membership. If you have previously been a member of a Baptist Church and want to join NHN, let us know of your desire. We will contact your former church and request that your membership be transferred.
3. By Believer's Baptism*. Any person who has trusted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, no matter what church affiliation they may have previously had, may join NHN by undergoing believer's baptism. The pastor will counsel with you about your decision and schedule your baptism at your convenience.
4. By Statement. Any person who has trusted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and undergone believer's baptism* may join NHN by statement. We will gladly accept your word that you have trusted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and have obeyed him through believer's baptism.
*We define "Believer's Baptism" to be baptism by immersion, after salvation, for the purpose of publicly affirming one's faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
